Brenda’s work often reflects her love of colour and shapes in her local environment. Whether she is meandering with the shape of the Brisbane river, diving into the colours and textures of sea life or flying with nature’s winged patterns, her work takes an in-depth and close up look at shape, colour and texture.
She has worked as a mixed media textile artist for 20+ years and has explored a multitude of mediums and topics, she now uses ink and fabric as her paint palette and allows the definitions of stitch to embellish her pieces.
She loves to encourage others to explore their hidden artistry and is the creator of the Workshop in a Box subscription and Textile Art Collective which boasts over 57K artists in a supportive community. She also runs an online business selling Art Quilt Supplies with quality products that she knows, loves and trusts.
A member of Textile Art Group, MiMArts, Ozquilt Network, Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) and now an International group called Magic Carpet Artists
A published author of many creative articles, Brenda exhibits regularly and is a prize-winning artist. Her work is held in private collections domestically & internationally.
